Dianne Ellis is a multi-media artist residing in Greensboro, North Carolina. She works primarily in oil, watercolor, and pastel. In addition to traditional canvas, ragpaper, and masonite, gold leafed and hand carved antique wood panels present some interesting surfaces for painting. Handmade papers collaged over the painted surface add interest to some pieces. Dianne received her BFA at Mercer University and continued study at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has participated in numerous workshops and completed a class in stained glass at the Community College in Rockingham, North Carolina.

Dianne worked as an illustrator for educational material and illustrated a children’s book which was included in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's "Picture A Book" presentation.

Currently Dianne works in Greensboro painting portraits of people, homes, and pets. She shows her work at several galleries and renders sculpture designs for Metropolitan Galleries. She particularly enjoys working with clients on unusual concepts and challenging requests. The Leland Stanford Mansion Foundation, in Sacramento, California contracted Dianne to help in their historic restoration of sculptures in the mansion. She also worked directly with Phyllis Madonna on the Alex Madonna Memorial sculpture in San Luis Obispo, California which featured her late husband Alex riding his favorite horse.
